American Surgical Assistants, Inc. is the leading surgical assistant professional services solution in the country with over 20 years in the industry. We provide a complete solution to the surgical assistant needs of hospitals, surgeons and healthcare institutions by providing specialized surgical assistants.

 

Company History

American Surgical Assistants was formed in 1999 in Houston, TX from the merger of two of the leading surgical assistant companies in the industry.  Company founders, Jaime Olmo and Zak Elgamal saw a need within the industry to bring an affordable, full-service surgical assistance solution. Both Mr. Olmo and Mr. Elgamal are international graduate physicians.

In June of 2005, American Surgical Assistants became the first surgical assistant professional services company in the country to be awarded the certification of The Joint Commission, the highest recognition in the industry. American Surgical Assistants has continued to grow over the years, with a current staff of over 150 surgical assistants.

Our solution has a heart. American Surgical Assistants has set for itself and its employees a code of ethics that we bring into every Operating Room. Empathy, understanding, and the pursuit of knowledge shall be the guiding principles in the practice of our profession.

Certifications
